Privacy Policy

TeaPod lets you record short voice "life updates" and share them privately with the specific people you connect with. We built TeaPod to be intimate and private, and we keep the data we collect to the minimum needed to make it work. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Information we collect

• Account details: your name and email address, provided when you sign in with Apple, Google, or email.
• Content you create: the audio recordings you make (updates and voice replies), their titles, and any text replies.
• Your connections: the people you invite and connect with, and who you choose to send each update to.
• Listening activity: playback position and which updates you've heard, so you can pick up where you left off.
• Device token: a push-notification token, so we can alert you when you receive a new update or reply.

How we use your information

Only to operate TeaPod: to deliver your updates to the people you choose, notify you of new updates and replies, let you resume playback, and secure your account. That's it.

Who can access your content

Your recordings are private. Each audio is accessible only to you and the specific people you choose to send it to, enforced by database-level access rules. Other users cannot discover or hear content that wasn't shared with them.

Service providers

We rely on a few trusted services to run TeaPod:

• Supabase: database, authentication, and encrypted file storage (hosted on AWS).
• Apple & Google: sign-in, if you choose those options.
• Expo: delivery of push notifications.

These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

Data retention & deletion

You can delete your account at any time, right inside the app: Profile → Delete account. You are offered two options:

• Delete account: permanently erases your profile, private notes, inbox, connections, and account. Recordings you had already shared remain with the people you sent them to (much like an email you've already sent), with your name removed and shown only as “A former friend.”
• Erase everything: additionally retracts and permanently deletes the recordings you shared from everyone you sent them to, so nothing you created remains on our systems.

Both options are immediate and cannot be undone. Either way, your account, sign-in identity, and everything held about you for our own purposes are permanently removed. You can also export a copy of your data anytime from Profile → Privacy → Download my data.

Children

TeaPod is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
